OwnerEntry Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2026

This policy explains what Jessen Bookkeeping LLC ("we," "us") collects when you use OwnerEntry at tools.jessenbookkeeping.com (the "Tool"), how we use it, and your choices. We do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

Information you give us. Your first name and email address, entered before you connect to QuickBooks or on a screen offering tips. We also record a few facts about your visit: the link you came from (for example, a LinkedIn post), which kinds of transactions you recorded (expenses, income, or both), whether you posted entries or downloaded a file, and, if the Tool could not help with your situation, which screen told you so.

QuickBooks Online data. If you connect QuickBooks, you authorize the Tool through Intuit's sign-in. The Tool then:

  • reads your company name and your list of active accounts (chart of accounts), so you can choose accounts;
  • creates the journal entries you review and approve; and
  • deletes journal entries it just created, only if you click Undo.

The Tool does not read your transactions, customers, vendors, bank feeds, reports, or any other QuickBooks data.

Transactions you enter. The dates, amounts, categories, vendor or customer names, and memos you type are used only to build your journal entries. If you post to QuickBooks, they pass through our server to Intuit and are not saved by us. If you download a file instead, they never leave your browser.

Technical information. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request information such as IP address and browser type to deliver and protect the site. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.

How we use it

  • To run the Tool and post the entries you approve.
  • To send you the information you asked for and occasional QuickBooks tips and updates from Jessen Bookkeeping. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the Tool is used and improve it.

We do not use your QuickBooks data for marketing, do not share it, and do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.

Storage and retention

  • QuickBooks connection. Your QuickBooks access is held in an encrypted session cookie in your browser. It ends when you close your browser, or immediately if you click Disconnect, which also revokes the Tool's access with Intuit. We do not store QuickBooks data or access tokens on our servers.
  • In-progress work. While you connect to QuickBooks, your unfinished entries are kept briefly in your browser's session storage so you can pick up where you left off. They are cleared when you return or close the tab.
  • Name and email. Kept in our email service (Mailchimp) until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that run the Tool, under their own privacy terms:

  • Intuit (QuickBooks Online), to read your accounts and create your entries, at your direction.
  • Mailchimp (Intuit Mailchimp), to store your name and email and send emails.
  • Cloudflare, to host the Tool and provide privacy-friendly analytics.

We may also disclose information if required by law.

Cookies

The Tool uses only cookies needed for it to work: a temporary cookie that keeps your QuickBooks connection during your visit and a short-lived cookie that protects the sign-in step. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe using the link in any email.
  • Disconnect QuickBooks in the Tool, or in QuickBooks under your connected apps, at any time.
  • Ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information by emailing jessen.bookkeeping@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws, and we will honor them.

Security

The Tool runs only over HTTPS. QuickBooks access is encrypted and limited to what is described above. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

The Tool is for business owners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new effective date.
